Chief of Staff:

Objective: Collaborate with the CEO and COO on projects regarding Ascent's strategy and development. Goal is to help prioritize Ascent's business strategies and provide recommendations to improve teamwork and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend community events to develop relationships

  • Assist CEO and COO and fill-in as they are unavailable e.g.:

    • Meet with loan applicants to gather information required for underwriting process

    • Track loan repayment and mitigate risks with team as needed

  • Define what skills are needed on Ascent team with CEO

  • Research free cultural training materials to enable better interaction with neighbors

  • Determine best-in-class recruitment tactics

  • Develop plan for feedback and performance tracking with the President of the Board

  • Derive presentations, interview process, and candidate assessment forms

  • Direct the biannual formal review process and establish key performance indicators

  • Enhance team building by planning events and team socials

Qualifications for the ideal candidate:

• Working toward a college degree in a related field (e.g., finance, business administration, nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, marketing, event planning, education or other relevant major)

• An effective communicator in written and oral form

• Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

• This person must be exceedingly well organized, proactive, detail-oriented, flexible and dedicated to helping in a support role

• Technical computer skills, especially in Gsuite

• Comfortable working alone on assignments and in collaboration with others

• Previous internship, nonprofit and/or relevant experience a plus

• Be comfortable working remotely from your campus location

• Have a functioning computer with decent wifi

• Must have a cell phone that you can be easily reached by

Fundraising Director:

Objective: Spearhead fundraising initiatives. Goal is to establish sustainable avenues for fundraising to ensure Ascent can continue to help the community for years to come.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape our fundraising strategy for sustainability.

  • Establish methods for fundraising including corporate donations, galas, etc.

  • Craft materials needed for pitches, donor newsletters, campaigns, event marketing, etc.

  • Organize the team to execute marketing campaigns and other efforts to fundraise.

Qualifications for the ideal candidate:

• Working toward a college degree in a related field (e.g., finance, business administration, nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, marketing, event planning, education or other relevant major)

Education Director

Objective: Oversees the evaluation, selection and integration of curricula and learning materials from the education coaches for our clients and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day administrative and oversees duties with Education Coaches, CEO and COO

  • Teaches the Education coaches regarding Ascent’s financial curriculum

  • Meet with loan applicants to assess relevant educational materials and resources

  • Lead in person or virtual community educational sessions Seek out community partners with relevant audiences or facilities to host educational sessions

  • Research best in class educational practices

Education Coaches:

Objective: Design curriculum to enable our clients to take charge in their lives while working to reach new community partners. Goal is to have develop and share informative information to our clients to assist in skill building and financial independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day administrative and reporting duties as assigned by Education Director, CEO and COO

  • Fill in as the Education Director is unavailable to:
